Also known as “Cloggy” or “the mad Dutchman” in the industry, Phil Mutsaerts has earned an unprecedented reputation for advising companies working within the recycling industry to acquire the most from their industrial machinery in order to maximise their organisations’ potential to improve their productivity, raise their material stream purities and yields which in turn will ultimately increase their company profits.
Having followed a path educationally in the 1980’s to obtain an Electronics Engineering degree from the Institute of Advanced Engineering in The Netherlands, 2003 saw Phil make the decision to start Allcontrols from his home city of Cambridge.
From there, Phil forged solid and long-lasting relationships with some of the world’s renowned engineering companies with specialisms in magnetic systems, electrostatic separation, polymer colour/optical sorting and separation and metal detection. Companies such as Goudsmit Magnetics, Hamos GmbH, Cimbria SEA and Mesutronic GmbH, now assist Allcontrols to provide proficient expertise to offer the highest quality turn-key solutions for the UK recycling industry. Phil and his team have imparted an envious market share of knowledge and expertise within the recycling sector. Companies operating have become to know and trust Phil and Allcontrols to provide the right solutions for them.
After 20 years of heading the Allcontrols ship, Phil made the difficult decision to find a way to look at options of handing the company baton over within the organisation to be able to future-proof the company for the years to come.
In February 2023, Scott Lowe became Director of Project Services and has responsibility for all the technical elements for our customer enquiries, as well as servicing and repairs from an electronic aspect. Mark Crane became Director of Mechanical Services, and his role is to head up and complete all the installation work of our turn-key solutions on customer sites. His additional duties include mechanical servicing of all customer’s equipment. Finally, Jan McGregor became Finance Director and also has responsibility for all administrative and back-office functions of the business, including online marketing and HR.
